Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of the Alephium Name Service.

Last updated: 18 July 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern all use of alphnames.com (the "Website") and the Alephium Name Service protocol it provides an interface to, including registering, renewing, linking, resolving and trading names (the "Service").

By accessing or using any part of the Website you agree to be bound by these Terms and any policies published on the site. If you do not agree, do not use the Website. The Website is available only to individuals who are at least 18 years old.

The Alephium Name Service is an open‑source, non‑custodial protocol. You interact with its smart contracts directly from your own Alephium wallet. There is no central team collecting fees, and no party takes custody of your assets or acts on your behalf.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. By using the Service you also agree to that policy.

Your responsibilities

You interact with the Service through your own Alephium wallet, and you are solely responsible for its security and for every transaction you sign. You agree not to use the Service for any illegal activity. Names are user‑generated content; you are responsible for the names you register and must not register names that infringe others' rights or are unlawful.

Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in writing, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non‑infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Names and the ANS token are on‑chain assets that exist only by virtue of the records on the Alephium blockchain. We are not liable for losses arising from, among other things: user error (such as mistyped addresses or names, or forgotten keys); server failure or data loss; corrupted wallet files; unauthorised access; smart‑contract vulnerabilities; or third‑party attacks such as phishing. We do not guarantee we can effect any transfer of title.

Assumption of risk

You acknowledge that: the ANS token and name NFTs may be volatile and you may lose money; you are solely responsible for any taxes on your transactions; using internet‑based currency carries inherent technical risks; and the regulatory landscape is uncertain and may change. Registering, renewing and trading names is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ANS and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Open source

The ANS protocol is released as open source at github.com/Deadrare/ANS. Your use of the source code is governed by the licence in that repository.

General

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remainder stays in effect. The content on the Website is general information only and does not constitute legal, financial, investment or tax advice — seek professional advice before acting.

Governing law

For consumers, these Terms and any dispute are governed by English law, with the courts of England and Wales having exclusive jurisdiction (residents of Scotland and Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings locally). For businesses, English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales apply.
